Long Term Success Tool

Demands on healthcare systems, technology and demographics constantly change, meaning that initiatives and pilots are a constant fixture within healthcare services. Significant resource is allocated to such projects designed to deliver improved patient outcomes, but there is evidence to suggest that there is initial benefit (i.e. while the scheme is well-resourced), long-term benefit can be difficult to maintain.

The Long Term Success Tool (LTST) was developed as part of a growing body of research into long-term sustainability of performance of these schemes. The LTST was developed through a combination of literature review and interviews, and refined by using the LTST to score real projects as they progressed.

The questionnaire is designed to take a maximum of 15 minutes to complete and to minimise jargon.
